·
WHM will strive to reach children and adults for Christ through
evangelism, schools, and camps.
·
WHM will challenge Christians to walk closely with the Lord and
to grow in their faith.
·
WHM will provide an experience as a missionary to the
Philippines through short-term teams for sports or building projects.
·
WHM will build structures to facilitate Christian ministries.
Examples are churches, pastors’ homes, schools, an orphanage, and camp. |

Thomas Randall

“… I have
become all things to all men so that by all possible means I might save some.”
I Cor. 9:22
1972-1976
Tom
graduated from Judson College with a degree in Human Relations in 1976. He
lettered in four sports (basketball, soccer, cross country, golf) and was named
a four-time unanimous All-Conference basketball player setting seven school
records, four conference records, and two national records. He averaged 31.5
points per game to lead the nation in scoring as a senior. Tom was a two-time
Illinois All_Star whose number was retired in recognition of his basketball
achievements. He was inducted into Judson College’s Hall of Fame in 2003.
Coming to Christ in January 1976 his heart and life were changed permanently.
Judson College named Tom Alumnus of the Year in 1981 and he was honored again in
1998 with an Honorary Doctorate Degree.
1976-1996
Serving
both as a missionary and athlete Tom has played over 2,000 international
basketball games around the world as well as sharing the Gospel of Jesus Christ
in each place. He has coached and directed 105 different teams and 1,100
short-term missionaries in the Philippines. His half-time unicycle and juggling
show has been performed in Olympic stadiums, on the Wide World of Sports in
Australia, in palaces, prisons, universities, military bases, and leper
colonies. Playing surfaces have included wood, carpet, cement, clay, sand,
decks of ships, and even coral! Around 600,000 people have been enrolled in a
home correspondence course or home Bible study and have been provided with a
Bible since 1979 when Tom and Karen moved permanently to the Philippines. The
monthly newsletter telling almost 400 prayer partners of what the Lord is doing
has been written about 240 times.
As
director of World Harvest Ministries since 1990 Tom orientates, trains, and
takes building crews, medical teams, and sports teams from the USA and Australia
to areas of the Philippines that need help and the Gospel of Jesus Christ. He
now has 25 years of missionary experience and with his wife, Karen, has seen
coups, a revolution, lived through an earthquake, volcano eruptions, typhoons
and floods, robberies, and ambushes while seeing the Lord work wondrously in
each situation and circumstance.
1996-Present
Since June
1996 Tom and Karen have made their home in the USA. They now live in Edmond, OK
where Tom has continued to lead the work of World Harvest Ministries. He makes
several trips a year to the Philippines to lead teams of work crews or sports
teams in short-term ministry opportunities. He also directs the work at a
special project, Sankey Samaritan Orphanage, home to 40 children in Lucena,
Philippines. A second project is Rizal Re-Creation Camp in Rizal, Philippines
where 20,000 children and adults a year can hear about Christ in a beautiful
camp setting. He also travels within the USA speaking in public and Christian
schools, colleges, community groups, churches and camps. February 2000 Tom
began work as Chaplain for the PGA Champions Tour (Sr. Tour) traveling to each
tournament and holding a Bible study attended by 60 to 100 of the players,
wives, caddies, and officials. On September 11, 2003 Tom and Karen were invited
to be the personal guests of President and Mrs. Laura Bush at the
White House for dinner in the private residence.
